chatwithjesus ("we", "us") provides an AI chat companion speaking in the voice of Jesus Christ, for reflection, comfort, and encouragement. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, and either a hashed password (if you sign up directly) or your name and profile picture (if you sign in with Google).
• Conversation content: the messages you send and receive, stored so your conversation history is available the next time you sign in.
• Voice messages: if you use the microphone feature, your audio is sent to a transcription service to convert it to text. We do not retain the original audio file after transcription.
• Payment information: if you purchase credits, your payment is processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Basic usage data: things like message timestamps and credit balance, needed to operate the service.

How we use third-party services

To provide the service, parts of your data are processed by these providers, strictly to operate the features below:

• Anthropic (Claude API): receives your message text to generate a reply.
• OpenAI: receives audio you record to transcribe it into text, if you use voice messages.
• Stripe: processes credit purchases and stores your payment details under its own security standards.
• Google: if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account.
• Resend: sends account-related emails, such as email verification and password reset links.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to train our own models.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your conversation history so you can pick up where you left off. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@chatwithjesus.co.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Not a substitute for professional care

chatwithjesus is an AI companion for reflection and comfort — it is not a licensed therapist, doctor, or crisis service. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a crisis line (such as 988 in the US) or your local emergency services, in addition to anything shared here.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
